A Desire for Wings or That I might walk in the Kingdom

There are three reasons I would beseech the Divine for such a gift as Wings. None of which are to take flight.

The desire to stretch them wide, to feel sinew and bone crack and flex, years long confined within adorned and custom crafted cages.

To hold them close around me and remember the embrace of a maker from a portion of eternity we had not yet a single of the five senses of which to perceive.

To bear witness with humility and disgrace before a world of doubt and subjection. The beneficence of a miracle and the disbelief of man.

For these reasons I would accept such a gift. Of which none of them would be the longing to leave this sacred earth. The Kingdom foretold is near and beneath our feet and not afar in the empty bowels of heaven unseen.

The first shall be the last, the last shall be the first.
The first step into the Kingdom is the last step a man shall ever have to concern himself with rank, file and order. The first of a new Aeon will be the last to leave the age of endless empire, and the end of the Aeon of the Wheels. Thus arises Liberty and Love from such glorious ashes.
